In this middle passage lesson, 8th graders describe life as a slave during the middle passage. Millions of africans were packed tightly onto ships bound for the americas. Slaves were quartered on ships for up to two months and treated as cargo. The slaves were taken to the new world and traded for raw materials which were then shipped back to europe.
